Review for Jericho and Boring medicalish stuff

Taped Jericho the other night, watched it last night. review mit spoilers and pointiness )

On the personal front, been fighting a urinary tract infection for a week, finally gave in and went to the doctor. Doc also gave me a prescription for painkillers- maybe I'm extra tough (I did once have a root canal without anesthesia), but I'm not even taking OTC painkillers for this, why would I need the hard stuff?

The antibiotic is working, but I think maybe I'm having some sort of reaction to the bacteria dying (some of them give off weird chemicals as they die/breakdown) because I told my hubby I was hot for Ming Na last night, which is the closest to telling him I'm bi I've come. Luckily, he's a straight guy- me having a thing for Ming Na just made him call me a tease (since a UTI makes the sex forbidden for a while).

In conclusion: Antibiotics good, Jericho bad. That is all.

+ Teen Titans Trouble in Tokyo- Stood up to the anticipation. The characterization remained true to the series, the story was nicely self-referential and the writing had some cute nods to Japanese pop culture, as well as really reestablishing Beast Boy as the Ron Weasley jester-type who speaks the truth in his jokes.

~ The Mets Won the Division Title! Woot!

Arr...I be terrible at talking pirate-style...Avast.

General list:

1. Studio 60 (i'd review but that's so overdone by now). Just got the crazy girl-love for Amanda and her pretty, pretty mouth.
2. Have now seen the last season one episode of Noah's Arc thanks to youtube. (link in my memories) review for series )
7. I made a dozen icons- go me. They aren't great, but I love my babies anyway.
f. RPG is my new passion. [info]psych_thegame and especially [info]newdawn_rpg I'm both Noah and Henry at New Dawn. (I have Henry Spencer from Psych simultaneously having a date with Jr.Det. Juliet (Cher) O'Hara and holding a 12 gauge shotgun on Xander Harris to protect his pretty, surrogate son Noah.)
eleventy-billion. My favorite number even if she's over used anymore.
apple. My Dead Zone fic is slowly coming together in my head, now I just have to sit down and write.
pluto (poor Pluto). The hubby and I are going to do NaNoWriMo this year(need a plot) and I have to create a Blooregard Q Kazoo costume to fit my eight year old. I may disappear around mid-October and not resurface until January.
blarg. My mad counting skillz.

Monster House and The Amazing Screw On Head

Took the kinder to see Monster House, which did not suck is so many good ways. It was like Spielberg managed to rent his sole back and produce a fantastic episode of Amazing Stories.

The animation is top notch and the story is classic horror without the mindless gore that currently permeates the horror genre and seems to be relied on in lieu of actual story.

It was a bit scary for younger kids- my four-year-old spent the beginning of the movie holding my hand and the second half snuggled in my lap, but he's still talking about how much he liked it four days later.

Also viewed the Pilot episode of The Amazing Screw On Head at Scifi.com, which was pretty good- especially the voice casting of David Hyde Pierce as the big bad guy. If you liked The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. and the more campy episodes of Buffy, go have a look. It's worth the half hour.
